Here I Go

Please pray for me as I follow my Heavenly Fathers path for me to Oklahoma. Yep! Today is the day. I know He is going to teach me so much during my time there. I will be pushed to my limits but I know my Heavenly Saviour knows no limits. In Him all things are possible. You know doing this was not on the top of my list but it was on the top of His. And I have given my life to Him so wherever He leads me I will go. I am nervous and a bit anxious but I am reminded often by my Saviour that He does not ask me to do anything on my own not even the smallest job.

Jeremiah 29:11 Says, " For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

1Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

Joy

I am so passionatly excited about life. The Hebrew word simcha means happiness in the most full sense. The simcha inside of me is overflowing (hence the blog name). I feel this way a lot. At night when there is a lot of time to think I get excited when I think about what my Heavenly Father does and what He is going to do. I am passionate about Him. He has blessed my family and I in so many different ways. Life is not without trials and stressful days or sadness and strife but He does promise that all things work together for good to them who love Him (Romans 8:28). Even though times have been hard in the past doesn't mean I can't have simcha today and be overwhelmingly enthusiastic. I choose to be a joyful person all the days of my life. But the simcha inside me is not my own I know that it is the Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) who lives inside of me.

Persecution Project

Active Compassion for the Persecuted from Watermelon Ministries on Vimeo.

I can't go and help them but I can do what I can here at home. If my Heavenly Father guides me to go and help the people in Africa I will go. My heart hurts for these people and the desire to do something to help them just keeps growing as I get older and as time passes. They are reaching out for help and we have the oppurtuniy because of the Persecution Project to do just that. Keep them in your prayers.

IN THE GAP

In The Gap Overview from In The Gap on Vimeo.

God has given me a passion for children. What we teach children when they are young really determines who they will be in the future. I am so excited about going and being a part of this ministry in the fall!! Everyone should have a passion to reach out to the children that God has placed in their lives. You will make a difference when you do.

Flower For Commit

Here is a flower that my friend and I will be teaching to the girls at the ATI Conference next week. I did something different to my flower than the original tutorial. I twisted it until it looked like there were three petals in between the three petals on top. Then I just glued everything together and added a fabric covered button. This is so cute and so fun. Here is the link to the tutorial.

Big Sisters

Today is April 2011 and is a very special day indeed. I am going to be a big sister again!! It will be the third time. It has been a while since there was a baby in our home. In fact it has been about seven years, wow!! I can hardly contain my joy. I'm anxious, nervous, and very excited!! And lets just say that sleep didn't come easy last night:) I am so ready to hold her and sing to her and change her ( well I'm not overly excited about this part) and protect her and teach her all she needs to know. Having a baby around will definitly take some getting used to. Everything will be so different but in a very good way.

Thank you Father for little sisters and little brothers. For the joy that they bring to us. For there jokes and games (even the ones we weren't so happy about:) For there messes and their uncombed hair. Thank you for your blessings that you give us each and every day. And for a new baby sister. Help me to teach her to make wise decisions. Help me to teach her to be kind. With your help may I teach her to love to praise you. And help me to be a good example for her. But most of all may she grow to love You with all her heart, mind, soul, and strength. May she stay pure for You Father. May she wait patiently for the one that she is to spend the rest of her life with. I have realized that being a big sister comes with big responsibilities.I can not do this on my own. Father help me.

Flower Tutorial

This is a picture of the type of flower that I am doing my tutorial on.

1. First things first. You will want to cut out your pattern for the flower. Cut out a circle that is 4 1/2" in diameter. I used

cardstock but you could use whatever you have on hand. Cardboard would work well.

2. Use your pattern you made and cut out eight circles from your fabric. You could do four circles one color and the

other four another color if you like.

3. Cut all of your circles in half.

4. Fold your halves in half. Right sides together.

5. Send all of your folded halves through the

sewing machine together.

It will make a long chain of petals.

6. Carefully cut all of your petals apart from one another.

Then turn each one inside out. They will look like cones or little

teepees.

7. Sew the bottom of your petals closed by rocking your needle in and out of the fabric. I call it rocking the cradle. It will gather into a petal. Using the same thread and needle do it again and again until you have ten petals for your bottom layer. You

will start to see the flower:)

Make sure that your petals on your bottom layer are gathered together tightly. Then use your needle to attach the two ends of your layer together. Then you have your bottom layer.Follow the same steps for step seven to make your bottom layer. Sew the two layers together as best you can and now you have your flower. Oh yeah for the middle of the flower my sister and I used fabric covered metal buttons. You can buy the metal buttons at your local fabric store. They are extremely easy and tons of fun to use.

Sorry about the quality of some of the pictures.

sister so she could give it to her
friend for her birthday.

this time I made the little flower to clip
on and off of the bag so she could wear
it in her hair or put it wherever she wanted
to.

Flowers a Wonderful Gift

This is a picture of the lovely flower my
sister made for her very dear friend. We
attached it to a scrunchy so she could
wear it in her hair.

This one is a bit smaller than the above
one. Although you can't tell with the
pictures I took. This one has a little clip
on the bottom.

We attached this one to a hair band. I
really like the colors and design on this
flower. But all of them are lovely my dear
sister:0)

This picture helps you to see the true
size of this flower.

Reversible Purse and Flower

Here is a picture of the reversible purse
that I really enjoyed making. I love the
way the colors look together.
I do believe I like green fabric side better
though. That is just because I really like
green though:)But if the green doesn't
match my outfit one day or I'm just not in
a green mood then I can reverse it to the
brown side.
This is a close up of the flower I made to
go on it. Then I just grabbed this sunflower
button I had and sewed it in the middle of it.

Here's a picture of the green side. It has
little bitty green flowers all over it.

and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien
shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers."

This makes me excited. Father if it be your
will lead me in this direction.

Shine For All to See

What if they think I'm just trying to be better than them?
What if they think I'm a goody-tooshu?
If I truly love God wouldn't I try to talk about
Him as much as possible. That makes me think,
"Do I really love Him?" I know I want to learn to
love Him. How many times has there been an
opportunity to tell someone about His love and
yet I chose not to and started making up excuses
like the ones above.
There are so many people that are lost and very
alone. The most important thing that we will ever
do is lead someone to Christ. The most important
thing that we will ever say is, " God loved you so
much that He gave His only son for you." And the
most important thing that we will ever see is someone
getting saved. Christ says in Matthew 5:14-15, " You
are the light of the world - like a city on a mountain
glowing in the night for all to see. Don't hide your light
under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine
for all." Lets not hide our lights behind our uncertainties
and insecurities. Lets put it on a mountain for all to see.

Fun With Sis

Having some tea and cookies
with sisters and watching Anne
of Green Gables is a wonderfully
splendid way to spend the day.

"My copper kettle whispers merrily
and signals that it is time for tea.
The fine china cups are filled with
the brew. There's lemon and sugar
and sweet cream , too. But, best of
all there's friendship, between you
and me. As we lovingly share our
afternoon tea. "
